About Erika

Erika Jacobson (BA, MA International and Community Development) is a community development arts practitioner with an interest in using participatory theatre in community development and social transformation interventions. Erika is currently facilitating theatre interventions with perpetrators of domestic violence at Breathing Space and with MWAS domestic violence women’s groups at WHS. Erika has worked in HIV, reproductive and sexual health interventions with marginalised communities and individuals in developing countries and has experience in engaging groups that are typically difficult to engage. In addition, she runs creativity workshops and is involved on creating a number of community theatre performances in collaboration with RRAFT, FORM and Urban Conversation.

She is also doing a PhD in the effectiveness of TO in interventions with perpetrators of DV through Murdoch University.

She works with practitioners from Perth, Australia and around the world and belongs to the growing network of drama practitioners dedicated to creating harmonious communities and equitable development.
